GE 1996-7 Season 3 Episode 16: BCN Programming Highlights
Note: this is not a transcript, but a working draft of the script, so there may be differences in the aired version.
Good Afternoon, I’m Rita Molloy with some BCN programming
highlights.
Right after the Great Eastern, it’s “Look It’s.” This week,
“Look It’s ... So Gauche”! Host Ricky Parabramey is joined by
fashion critic Lawrence Hiscock-Royce. Together, they’ll mock
the great fashion faux-pas’s of 1996: upper age limits for
toreador pants discovered at Radio Awards; a lobster bib and
diaper fiasco at Gander Airport; and Brian Tobin’s
Newfoundland Tartan lederhosen shocker. Plus Laurence, the
only fashion scribe to predict the return of bell-bottoms, looks
into his crystal ball once more and sees ... cravats.
At 1:00, it’s fun for the whole family with Uncle Jack’s Shack.
This week Uncle Jack finds his back and sends little Esau for a
carton of smokes. But Warden Coombs gets wind of the
operation and alerts social services.
At 4:00, it’s Playlets and Episode Sixteen of Delbert Onglow’s
gritty dramatic cycle, “Please Make It Stop”. The Christmas
siege at the Fleming’s is still holding. Feral Dad remains
bivouacked behind a parched Christmas Tree; Mom, fortified
with fruit cake fixings and a stocking full of wake-ups, holds the
kitchen; while sullen daughter Brenda maps a possible nocturnal
escape through the rec room corridor. “You Shouldn’t Have”,
this week on Please Make It Stop.
