GE 1996-7 Season 3 Episode 21: What's That Noise?
Note: this is not a transcript, but a working draft of the script, so there may be differences in the aired version.
PAUL: Well, I tried. Sorry about
that display of juvenalia, in
one sense I find it very
embarassing, but I got to
admit that that is one of the
things I find attractive about
those guys. That’s who they
are. They let it all hang
out.
Anyway, it is time to play the
game that Canada is
discovering, it’s time for the
What’s That Noise From Nfld
contest !
We introduced a new noise last
week, and Hollis Duffitt, good
to have you back, Hollis, lay
that noise upon an
unsuspecting public.
SFX: THE NOISE
That’s it, the sound
conundrum.
So let’s dig down in to the
mail bag ... we have an e-
mail.
And it’s from ... Terrance
Berscheid, hope I’m saying
that correctly, Terrance, and
he is entering all the way
from Saanich, BC. And
Terrance writes: “Re: your
sound bite question. The
ticking sound was the wind-up
“clockworks” which rotate the
lens in the historic Cape
Bonavista Lighthouse at
Trinity Bay.”
Terrance Berscheid, from
Saanich, BC ... no, sorry, not
clockworks in the Cape
Bonavista lighthouse, and if
I’m not giving too much of a
hint, not the clockworks in
any of Nfld’s remaining
lighthouses.
So come on, put your ear up to
the radio, and listen to this.
Hollis Duffitt, if you please.
SFX: THE NOISE
If you know what that noise
is, then you are bound by the
rules of the game to enter
your answer into the What’s
That Noise From Nfld Contest,
c/o the BCN, 342 Duckworth
St., St. John’s, A1C 1H5.
Or e-us at
.
Here’s a new band from New
Brunswick you’ll be hearing
more from in the future.
The group is Sol, the song is
“Lucinda.”
