ERLING:	It appears that now, once more, it is time for the What's That Noise 
	from Nfld Contest.  This is the game that challenges your ears to identify 
	a sound played out of natural context.

	Hollis Duffitt is the keeper of the noise, and he'll now release it from 
	its lair.  Hollis ?

SFX:	THE NOISE

	That's the as-yet unascertained noise from somewhere in the province of Nfld.

	We'll draw a letter at random from all the mail we've received here at the BCN 
	since the introduction of this sound several weeks ago ... and the lucky contestant 
	today is ... from Tofino, British Columbia.  Ah, yes, Tofino, on the west coast of 
	Vancouver Island, overlooking as it were, the beautiful Clayoquot Sound.

	Our contestants are Bob Hansen and Adrienne Mason, and they write:  "Here's our 
	response to the "What's That Noise From Nfld" contest.  The sound is the beep 
	transmitted from a radio-collared animal.  Which animal ?  Who knows ?"

	Indeed, Bob and Adrienne, who knows.

	Hollis Duffitt, quizmaster and judge, what thinkst thou ?

	No ?  Come on, Hollis, who'll ever guess the tag is on a caribou.

	Oh.

	And anyway, I've given it away now.

SFX:	THE WINNERS THEME

	Hollis Duffitt grudgingly plays the winners theme, but we do have a winner, 
	Bob Hansen and Adrienne Mason of Tofino, BC, who have correctly identified the 
	noise as that of a Global Positioning System "ping" rebounding from the collar on a caribou.

	Congratulations, and a Great Eastern tee-shirt will soon be on its way to you.

	If you have been following this segment of The Great Eastern, you will know that 
	when we do have a winning entry, we immediately nominate another unfamiliar 
	noise as the object of your guesses.
