GE 1998-9 Season 5 Episode 12: What's That Noise?
Note: this is not a transcript, but a working draft of the script, so there may be differences in the aired version.
PAUL:	Is there nothing that can stop the awful advance of this,
the most imitated game show on the Long Wave ?

No ! Nothing ! It's time you became a willing participant in the
What's That Noise From Newfoundland contest!

Playing this game means you must have exposure to the noise!
Hollis Duffett, bare all and bring that quivering oscillation
once more to our thirsting ears.

SFX:	THE NOISE

Let alone Newfoundland, what on earth is that noise.

Testing your deductive fettle, I let fall my bag-diving digits,
they do the dirty work and pull out this ... an e-mail from ...
well of all places, Newfoundland, look at that. It's from Gord
Locke and he writes: "I think the noise is a Pine Marten!"

Pine martens, of course, are an endangered species here on the
island related to the common weasel ...

SFX:	WINNER'S THEME

Gord Locke, meet Hollis Duffett, our contest judge, who judges
your entry ... correct ! A pine marten it is, an animal near
extermination because of the interminable quest by international
cartels for trees which they turn in to the National Enquirer,
and the Globe and Post. Personally, I'd take a pine marten
over a Globe and Post any day.

And sure there's hardly enough meat on a marten to load a barbecue
	skewer, anyway.

Still, it would be a sin if the world were deprived of an animal
just because we won't eat it.

	Soundward !

A correct entry means we have a new sonic stumper for you to identify.

Get a pencil and some paper, I'll give you our addresses in a moment.

But first, Gentleman Duffett, acquaint our good listeners with an
	uncontaminated ululation.

SFX:	THE NEW NOISE
