PAUL: Good news ! Good noise !
The local constabulary has apprehended the alleged
perpetrators of the now infamous BCN Break-in.
Several people, including a couple of Cuban nationals,
are being held for questioning in the affair. But the
police did locate our purloined pile of contest and entries
so ...

SFX: THE NOISE
There it is, the sound, and here it is, the familiar mail
sack, full to overflowing with loving entries, in I go,
and here amidst the envelopes and e-mails and cartons
and stuff I pull out ... this !
It's an e-mail all the way from ... hmmm, Orleans, Ontario.
We seem to have a bit of a fan base in Orleans, a recent
winner of the noise contest, Vivek Krishnamurthy, hails
from there. Anyway, Val and Cary Jensen of Orleans write:
"Dear Paul, We thing TNFN is the sound of a load of cod beink
dumped on a scale at a fish processink plant. We thing probably
St. John's.
Thingink of you, and hopink no infections result from your
recent CRTC-induced tattoo ordeal."
If you weren't here a couple weeks ago, I went for my dermal
branding. The guy was supposed to tattoo the phrase "Things to
Do" on my wrist, but he was so hungover he needled in Thinks to
do ... I'm looking at it now and ... ah, dang ... sigh, I'll
get it after the show.
Val and Cary continue, "Thangs for the many thinks you've done,
sinkink your praises. The Jensens, Orleans, Ontario."
Hollis, what sayest thou ?
SFX: THE WINNER'S THEME
Get out the fireworks, we have another winner from Orleans !
Yes, Val and Cary Jensen, that is indeed the sound of fish
being removed from a container and weighed, on their way to
another container. The whole truth is that the fish, which
are cod by the way, I don't know if you can tell that from a
radio signal, the cod are in a pen on a fish farm and are being
moved from that pen to another enclosure in preparation for market.
Close enough, says Quizmaster Hollis Duffett, and you will soon
be the recipient of a beautiful Great Eastern Tee-shirt.
A couple of those fashionable items now loose on the streets
of Orleans, Ontario.
Long-time listeners know that the contest just keeps rolling on
in the wake of a correct guess. Get your pencil and paper
ready, I'll give you the contest address right after we hear
the new noise from Newfoundland.
SFX: THE NEW NOISE
Mm - mmm. There ain't nothing like home style noise. It is
alleged, and I don't know if this is true, but Newfoundland
is an endless source of noise, a legacy we here at the BCN
are proud to protect.
