Note: this is not a transcript, but a working draft of the script, so there may be differences in the aired version.

ROBERT:	The Great Eastern is BCN's flagship programme, the longest
running radio show in the world.

A unique program, it investigates every 'nook and cranny' of the
Newfoundland psyche. The demands of the Great Eastern require
a unique host. It is Paul Moth.

PAUL:	What do you mean "Mordecai Richler won't speak to me ?"
	Doesn't he know who I am ?

Okay, okay, yeah, I understand, I'll do the chimp piece. But this time,
put a muzzle on the chimp, will ya. This is a show about culture, remember.
I'm still finding ape fuzz all over the studio.

SFX:	PHONE HANGUP

ROBERT:	SETS UP CLIP #1, EXPLAINING TGE, CULTURAL MAGAZINE, ETC.

Paul is a veteran of the media wars: his experiences range from his
career here in Newfoundland, to Mexican cinema, and work on US serial
	and variety television programs.

PAUL:	Yeah, I did a lot of work in American television.

ROBERT:	You got your start with Starsky and Hutch ?

PAUL:	That's right. Do you remember the episode where Starsky is
kidnapped by ... ah, gee, I can't remember the character's name, but he was
played by Sammy Davis, Jr. - great guest spot, Sammy was fabulous.

ROBERT:	I think I do remember that one.

PAUL:	There was a great cameo by Dick Martin.

ROBERT:	Of Rowan & Martin's Laugh-in ?

PAUL:	Right. One of the funniest guys in American show business,
	but a real ...

ROBERT:	You have many connections to the icons of American television,
Don Knotts, Harvey Corman, Charo, Buddy Hackett, "Shirley Partridge" ...

PAUL:	Yeah, Shirley Jones. (SIGH) What can you say about someone who has
meant everything to you in your life, everything once and nothing now ?

ROBERT:	Would you care to ... ?

PAUL:	No, no, Shirley's got her own career, now. She does parades and
things, so I don't think we should go into that.

But now, Don Knotts, there was a funny guy, let me tell you about the time ...

ROBERT:	Paul has served his audience and his community with great distinction.
